To this day what I remember most about old man Daniel was his smile. He was frail at 87 but his smile was youthful and strong. He was a good neighbor and a great friend, with a smile as inviting as Sunday dinner after a long week.

When Daniel smiled he transformed everyone’s mood and sometimes their day. How could something as simple as a smile lift up a dark day, cut through conflict, and bridge the miles of geography, race, class, gender and age? In a world of antidepressants prescriptions, techno communication, and busy bee schedules, finding more joy in your life and relationships could be as simple as finding more time and reasons to smile. 75% of people report the quality of their lives would improve dramatically if freinds, family, and colleagues smiled at them more often.

*NOTABLY* kind words were not neccesary- just a warm smile.

Is there someone in your life that brings you joy just by smiling? Who is it? What does their smile do for you? What could your smile do for someone else? Sound off!
