“I consider Sheila to be a dynamic clinician and motivational speaker who utilizes varies clinically based modalities and storytelling to help individuals move through the healing process. Sheila exudes positive energy and inspiration. I look forward to her future endeavors!
I have also read Sheila’s book, “They’re not coming”—which touches on the sad reality of how we have lost the very essence of humanness (kindness, empathy, compassion and connectedness with one another) through deviance, sense of entitlement, self-centeredness, fast-paced life styles and technology. The book however offers hope by putting into perspective how precious life is and the importance of self-care in reclaiming our lives and managing circumstances around us. As a Psychological Counselor, at Ramapo College of New Jersey, I have recommended this book to many of my students who are struggling with personal challenges and entering into the world of work. I have had the opportunity to collaborate with Sheila this past year. Most recently, she came to speak to a Women of Color group here at Ramapo College, who thoroughly enjoyed her presentation.”

“National Council for Behavioral Health
It is my pleasure to write this letter to introduce you to Sheila Robinson-Kiss. New Jersey’s Division of Child Protection and Permanency has been under Federal Monitorship since 2007. As Assistant Program Manager, one of my tasks is to find trainers with expertise in topics of need and interest to New Jersey’s DCP&P staff.
During an annual new trainer search in 2011, I interviewed and subsequently hired Sheila to become one of our training consultants.
My first impression of Sheila was that she was certainly more than qualified to represent Montclair State University in the delivery of training to our Northern New Jersey staff. But additionally she presented herself as an engaging, confident, competent and empathic person; all qualities New Jersey was pursuing in its shift in Case Practice.
We started her out with delivering one of her own curriculums, Stress Management Tools for the Lives We Lead “Today”; and it was well received by her participants. We then assigned her to deliver other state wide topics. My official observations of her in the classroom were highlighted by:
• Creating an engaging environment conducive for learning
• A knowledge of adult learning styles
• Comfort with recognizing the other experts in the room
• Mastery of the subject matter
It is my humble opinion, that Sheila would be a wonderful asset and addition to your organization and to your instructor pool.
Very truly yours,”

“This email is in response to the recent SCR training provided by Sheila Robinson Kiss. My unit attended the training on April 24th, 25th, and 26th 2012.
I want to thank Administration in being proactive in identifying the needs of screeners here at SCR. First and foremost, Ms. Kiss was dynamic! There are not enough adjectives to describe her talent. She certainly has a gift for being able to impart knowledge in a way that was useful, practical and positive all the while keeping everyone at ease. She was respectful of the differences of each of her students and took the time to know each one on an individual basis in short period of time. The skills obtained were easily transferable the moment training was over and it was “back to the grind.” I felt a sense of rejuvenation. I strongly believe my screening skills improved ten fold simply with this three day training. I found myself in situations only imaginable during the training. In an instant, I was able to recall the training and apply it thus putting the consumer at ease. I was able to elicit information that I may not have been able to gain previously by utilizing the techniques, skills and methods imparted by Miss Robinson-Kiss.
It is my sincere hope that these trainings remain the standard for SCR for continuous quality improvement.
